MyFoodFacts^TM – an iPhone application empowering food allergy sufferers to take control over the foods they eat and the products they buy!

MyFoodFacts^™ identifies food allergens present in food products, allowing allergen sufferers to avoid purchasing products potentially containing food allergens.

Here’s how MyFoodFacts^™ works. Food allergen sufferers personalize their food allergen alerts. Then, using the built-in iPhone camera, scan product label barcodes to search ingredients for personal food allergens. If a food allergen is found, MyFoodFacts™ immediately alerts the shopper to the presence of food allergens in the product.

• Easily display and read product ingredients – including derivatives
• Sort ingredients alphabetical or by quantity size
• Personalize your own food allergen list and related alerts
• Quickly search for specific ingredients

Although the first release of MyFoodFacts™ was designed for the United States, near future plans include ongoing expansion of food product coverage for the United States, Canada, Europe and other countries, as well as releasing it onto other Smartphones. A new feature of MyFoodFacts™ now allows shoppers to be alerted to critical food product recalls and undeclared food allergy alerts from organizations such as the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
